The Third Technical Meeting on Interprofessional Education in Health (IPE): Improving the capacity of human resources to achieve universal health, was held in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, in December 6 and 7 of 2018.
Fifteen countries of the Region of the Americas were present at the meeting, having as a framework the strategic lines established in the Strategy on Human Resources for Universal Access to Health and Universal Health Coverage of PAHO/WHO.
The participating countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname and Uruguay, presented the activities planned and carried out in their national implementation plans for the IPE, which were previously presented to PAHO/WHO in February 2018.
For the year 2019 the proposal of REIP is to accompany the activities to be developed by these countries, also include the other countries of the Region in the formulations of plans to implement IPE and offer initiatives to support the development of the IPE, such as the course of Interprofessional Education for teacher training.
