All-online IPE: Do’s & Don’ts
All around the world we are aware of the impact of Covid-19 on higher education and healthcare. Many higher education institutions have taken actions to transform their face-to-face education into a blended form, or even an all-online one. Naturally, this crisis we are facing has an impact on interprofessional education (IPE) as well. For many higher education institutions this crisis meant that their IPE was cancelled or postponed or that the IPE had to be transformed into all-online education. The latter has several challenges from a didactic point of view. Since we do not know when or if we ever will be going back to a former situation, we would like to discuss the topic of all-online IPE with you.
There are three specific questions that we have formulated for this one hour session, of which we would like to ask you to think about before the session. These questions are:
- What advice can you give others in what works well and what does not in providing online IPE?
- Which all-online activities/tasks are best suited for students to acquire their IPE competencies?
- What would assessment of IPE competencies look like in all-online IPE?
