Abstract:

This presentation is part of the APIPEC Network, Asia Region. Dr. Endang from Indonesia will present “Bridging Professions, Elevating Care: Unlocking the Power of Simulation for Next-Level Collaboration,” while Dr. Khuansiri from Thailand will present “Advancing Politeness and Assertive Communication through Tone of Voice in Crisis Team Situations: A Pre-Post Acoustic Analysis Study of TeamSTEPPS Virtual Simulation for Interprofessional Education in Healthcare Undergraduate Students.” The audience will gain insights into simulation-based learning grounded in interprofessional education (IPE) concepts, highlighting how simulation enhances collaboration, communication, and teamwork among healthcare professionals.

Endang Lestari, Ph.D. is an expert in medical education and interprofessional collaboration. She co-leads the Asia Pacific Interprofessional Education and Collaboration Network (APIPECnet) and heads the Medical Education and Interprofessional Education Research Center at Universitas Islam Sultan Agung (UNISSULA), Indonesia. With a Ph.D. from Maastricht University, she has contributed to curriculum innovation, faculty development, and interprofessional education implementation. Dr. Lestari has secured research grants, advised health institutions, and published extensively ixxn her field, driving advancements in health professions education across the Asia-Pacific region.

Khuansiri Narajeenron, MD, MHPE, MSc, FTCEP, CHSE, is a faculty member in emergency medicine and cardiology at Chulalongkorn University and King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, Bangkok. As Academic Director and a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator, she trains EM residents and healthcare professionals in non-technical skills, TeamSTEPPS, and simulation-based interprofessional education. She serves on the Thai Emergency Medicine Committee, develops residency evaluation apps, and conducts research at the University of California, Irvine. A graduate of Thammasat University, she holds an MHPE from the University of Illinois at Chicago and an MSc from Chulalongkorn University.
