Description
Every wonder how a single IPE event can spark an international partnership? This presentation will expand on a Lightning Talk given at the 2023 Nexus Summit. Suzy Plows (UK) and Ann Curtis (US) will discuss their early collaboration and work with international students creating and facilitating a joint IPE event. They will share how they used this event as a starting point for developing an international partnership and will present upcoming projects and goals. Attendees will discover how to replicate the international IPE event and establish and maximize their own international partnership.

Suzy Plows MPH
Suzy Plows is the Manager of the Centre for Interprofessional Education and Learning at the University of Nottingham and Board member of CAIPE (Centre for the Advancement of Interprofessional Education) in the United Kingdom. Her background is in anthropology, health policy and public health and she has been working in interprofessional education since 2015.
Ann Curtis DNP, RN
Ann Curtis is a registered nurse and the Director of Interprofessional Education (IPE) at Maine College of Health Professions (MCHP) in Lewiston, Maine (US). She is committed to improving patient outcomes and healthcare team members’ experiences through innovative, engaging, and evidence-based IPE. Leading a diverse team, Ann established the Gould Center for Interprofessional Education at MCHP where she creates and facilitates IPE for all MCHP students and as many other institution’s students as she can! Ann holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in Nursing Education Leadership from American Sentinel University.
