Theme: Practice architectures of interprofessional practice: how people work together, and what makes this possible.
Nick Hopwood, UTS, Australia, Madeleine Abrandt Dahlgren, LiU
This workshop will focus on how interprofessional practice is done, and how professionals learn together to work together. Madeleine and Nick will explain a toolkit for understanding and promoting interprofessional practice, based on the idea of practice architectures. This draws attention to the sayings, doings and relatings of practice, and the arrangements that make these possible. These will be illustrated with reference to practices and simulations in a birth emergency involving nurses, midwives and obstetricians. In the discussion, participants will be invited to apply the toolkit to their own clinical setting.
